About the event
Before we knew who we were, we were often taught who we needed to be.
Through family, culture, school, faith, relationships and the communities around us, we learned what was acceptable and what wasn’t. What made us lovable. What kept us safe. And which parts of ourselves we needed to hide, soften or silence to belong.
This space is for gently exploring the messages that shaped us and questioning whether they still reflect who we are becoming.
We’ll talk about:
• Where our earliest ideas about identity came from
• What we learned made us worthy, lovable or safe
